I'm an educator, a community leader, and a mom.

 

And I'm a Democrat running to represent District 98 in the North Carolina House of Representatives.

 

I stand for

 

Good governance.

We deserve government that works for us. Voter suppression, gerrymandered maps, and power grabs hurt democracy and damage trust. I will serve with accountability, transparency, and honesty.

Public education.

North Carolina public education is at a tipping point. Once seen as the model for a robust public school system, our state now ranks 50th in school funding effort. Strong public schools are the backbone of strong communities. We must fully fund our public schools and expand support for early childhood education.

Safe and healthy families.

When working families thrive, our communities thrive. We all deserve to live safe, healthy, and productive lives. I will work to expand access to quality healthcare, childcare, and reproductive care, including abortion care; fight for cleaner air and water; and demand common sense gun safety legislation that will keep our kids safer at home and in school.

Responsible growth.

Our district is growing fast. As we welcome new neighbors, opportunities, and small businesses, we must also have infrastructure and policies in place to meet the demand. Our municipal governments deserve state laws and resources that support intentional planning. We need transportation solutions, expanded public works and housing options, and communities that are resilient in the face of climate change.
